Gemstone Meanings

The primary use for gems throughout history has been for healing and spiritual rituals. Although gems were rare and exhibited great beauty, the reason they were so precious was due to the power they imparted to their wearers.

They are storehouses of empowerment, transmitted through contact with one’s body. Kings and queens would have gemstones set in their crowns to obtain their potencies. They connected the monarchs with forces enabling them to rule guided by cosmic energies. Priests of different religions used gems in rings for similar reasons. Gems exhibit their power in a beneficial or detrimental way – depending on how they are used.

The inherent powers of gemstones are recognized by modern science in the technological uses of crystals in watches, lasers, and computers, but the more subtle potencies, such as their ability to promote physical healing in the body, or their power to help balance human emotions, elude modern science.
.
1. All stones or gems have magnetic powers in varying degrees, and many of them are beneficial to us for their therapeutic cures.
2. They emit vibrations and frequencies which have strong potential influence on our whole being.
3. They create strong energy fields which enable us to be charged with their energies.
4. The gems are used for healing, transforming, balancing, and attuning the body, mind and soul.
5. They are a manifestation of vibrancy, light and color, life, textures, transparency and clarity.
6. They activate our abilities, soothe and comfort, heal and balance through the purity of their rays.
7. The patterns in the stones reveal to us the changes that keep taking place, indicating that life is change – that the process of evolution is a cosmic law.
8. Each gem, tuned to a particular ray, has a special role to play.
9. The gems can be cleaned by leaving them under running water for six to eight hours. Or, bury them in some earth overnight, and rinse them off. Or, keep the stone in the flame of a candle until the candle melts. Or still, place the stone amongst a heap of quartz for several days, whereby its energy is revived from the contact of the quartz.
10. The gem that is cleaned should be placed in direct sunlight, for the sun is a great source of energy and purification.
11. The more precious stones that you wear, the more strongly will you be charged with cosmic forces, radiating out into your surroundings.
12. Wear your stones – Do not store them in a safe or jewelry box, for you will be depriving your body of their tremendous power.
13. Precious stones have a way of healing emotions that have been inharmonious.
14. The stones selected for use should always be in contact with one’s body to absorb their healing properties.

Poem: The Color of Friendship

Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel.  All claimed that they were the best.  The most important.  The most useful.  The favorite.

Green said:
"Clearly I am the most important.  I am the sign of life and of hope.  I was chosen for grass, trees and leaves.  Without me, all animals would die.  Look over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."

Blue interrupted:
"You only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea.  It is the water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea.  The sky gives space and peace and serenity.  Without my peace, you would all be nothing."

Yellow chuckled:
"You are all so serious.  I bring laughter, gaiety and warmth into the world.  The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow.  Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile.  Without me there would be no fun."

Orange started next to blow her trumpet:
"I am the color of health and strength.  I may be scarce, but I am precious, for I serve the needs of human life.  I carry the most important vitamins.  Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangoes and papayas.  I don't hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."

Red could stand it no longer.  He shouted out:
"I am the ruler of all of you.  I am blood - life's blood!  I am the color of danger and of bravery.  I am willing to fight for a cause.  I bring fire into the blood.  Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon.  I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy."

Purple rose up to his full height.  He was very tall and spoke with great pomp:
"I am the color of royalty and power.  Kings, chiefs and bishops have always chosen me, for I am the sign of authority and wisdom.  People do not question me!  They listen and obey."

Finally Indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others, but with just as much determination:
"Think of me.  I am the color of silence.  You hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial.  I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water.  You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace."

And so the colors went on boasting, each convinced of his or her own superiority.  Their quarreling became louder and louder.  Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening.  Thunder rolled and boomed.  Rain started to pour down relentlessly.  The colors crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another for comfort.

In the midst of the clamor, rain began to speak:
"You foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest.  Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, uinque and different?  Join hands with one another and come to me."

Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands.

The rain continued:
"From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace.  The Rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow."

And so, whenever a good rain washes the world, and a Rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another.

Poem: Soldiers Night before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and he lived all alone

In a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give
And to see just whom in this home did live.

I looked all about and a strange sight did I see
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the mantle, just boots filled with sand
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.

With medals and badges, awards of all kinds

A sober thought came to my mind
For this house was different, dark and dreary
It was the house of a soldier, I now could see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone
Curled up on the floor in this one bedroom home.
The face was so gentle, the room in disorder
Not how I pictured a United States soldier.

Was this the hero of whom I had read?
Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed?
I realized the families I saw on this night
Owed their lives to this soldier who was willing to fight.

Soon ‘round the world the children would play
And grown-ups would celebrate a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom, each month of the year
Because of the soldiers like the one laying here.

I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone
On a cold Christmas Eve in a land from home.
The very thought brought a tear to my eye
And I dropped to my knees and started to cry.

The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice
”Santa, don’t cry, this life is my choice.
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more
My life is my God, my Country, my Corps.”

The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep
And I couldn’t control it, I started to weep.
I kept watch for hours, so silent and still
And we both shivered from the cold night’s chill.

I didn’t want to leave on that cold, dark night
This Guardian of Honor so willing to fight.
The soldier rolled over and with a voice soft and pure
Whispered, “Carry on, Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all is secure.”

One look at my watch and I knew he was right
Merry Christmas, my friend, and to all a Good Night.

Poem: Jesus Is The Reason

In Bethlehem, God gave to us
The source of Christmas joy;

A star shown on a miracle:
The virgin birth of a boy.

He was born both God and man,
A Savior for us all,
The way to get to our heavenly home,
If we just heed His call.

So as we shop and spend and wrap
And enjoy the Christmas season,
Let's keep in mind the sacred truth:
Jesus is the reason.

Poem: If I Had my Child To Raise Over Again

IF I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars,
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often,
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

Motivational Poem: Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;

When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;And you can never tell how close you are;

It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.

Use positive affirmations to change your life

Using Affirmations is a way to create positive change in your life, but just as important; they feel good to say.  Affirmations are one of the easiest, yet most overlooked meditations in the world.   I will once again refer to a little book called Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain as the source of inspiration for this article. Definition:  “To affirm means ‘to make firm.’  An affirmation is a strong, positive statement that something is already so.  It is a way of ‘making firm’ that which you are imaging.”
Try saying my personal three affirmations in life, and see how they make you feel:
  • I am capable of anything and bound by nothing”“
  • I love like I have never been hurt, and work like I don’t need the money”
  • I strive for love, Seek knowledge, Find happiness, and Yield not to Fear”
They feel good to say, don’t they?  When we practice using affirmations, we replace the old bad programming that blocks us from moving forward in life.  Our mind defines us, whether we like it or not.  Filling it each day with positive affirmations will have an immediate impact on how we feel and think about our present situations.  It is such an easy practice contrary to the difficult meditations that push us to quiet our mind. Creating your own personal list of affirmations is a fun and positive exercise.
I suggest making the Affirmations as personal as possible, don’t simply rely on someone else’s list for your life, make your own and start today.
Shakti gives the following 7 tips for you to follow:
  1. Always phrase affirmations in the present tense, not in the future.”
  2. Always phrase affirmations in the most positive way that you can.”
  3. In general, the shorter and simpler the affirmation the more effective.”
  4. Always choose affirmations that feel totally right for you.”
  5. Always remember when doing affirmations that you are creating something new & fresh.”
  6. Affirmations are not meant to contradict or try to change your feelings or emotions.”
  7. When using affirmations, try as much as possible to create a feeling of belief, an experience that they can be true.”
Here are some great examples take from Creative Visualization to get you started:
  • I am dynamically self-expressive.”
  • It’s Okay for me to have everything I want!”
  • I feel happy and blissful just being alive.”
  • I am a radiant being, filled with light and love.”
  • I am an open channel of creative energy.”
  • The light within me is creating miracles in my life here and now.”
  • I love to love and be loved.”
  • Infinite riches are now freely flowing in my life.”
  • Everything I need is already within me.”
  • Abundance is a natural state of being.  I accept it now!”
  • I love and appreciate myself just as I am.” By Shakti Gawain
The present moment is all we have in life, so take this moment to write at least one affirmation to share with others in the comment section below.  Begin changing you inner-self with positive thoughts today.

Einstein & the LOA

Einstein’s most famous equation, E = mc2. That equation, written in that form, immediately suggests the possibility of converting small quantities of mass into large quantities of energy - a suggestion that was realized, of course, with the development of nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons. It is worth noting, however, that this is not the way the equation appears in Einstein’s original paper. Read on to discover the law of attraction & einstein.

In that paper you do not find E = mc2, but rather m = E/c2. The difference is trivial algebraically, but profound conceptually, for the second (original) form of the equation suggests something quite different: the possibility to derive mass from energy. It shows that from the beginning, Einstein was thinking about questioning the foundations of fundamental physics, not making bombs.

He wanted to explain the existence of mass, of matter; simply put our entire existence.

There are different forces that govern our universe scientifically. Examples of two of these forces are the force of gravity which holds planets together, and electromagnetic force, which hold tiny particles like atoms together.

Our focus, or put in other words “the law of attraction”, simply agrees with the universal forces described above. Mental focus is the energy which binds particles of matter. You see, we understand matter is not made of anything really. Rather just mass-less “things” held together.

At the sub atomic level, nothing can be proven of where particles will end up when a “random” collision of particles strike each other. There are infinite possibilities of where the particles of the collision will end up. When particles are forced to collide together, in the same way repeatedly through experiment, they always end up at the end result intended by the scientists. (Young’s famous double slit experiment)

This means that by tuning our focus to some sort of object or experience we literally create the ‘matter’ by our intentions. This is done by drawing the energy which binds things together, purely by our focus on the “object of our intentions” Remember matter is nothing, it really is nothing. Simply the things we touch taste, feel and smell are just energy bound by a force of where mass-less particles are intended to be.

Einstein was right all along; his intentions may have swayed for the application of his law. None the less, mass is simply made of ‘nothing’ held together by something we can not even see, only feel. It is simply things held together by a force. This again agrees with everything the world is made up of. Even the thought you are having right now, it weighs nothing, and it is nothing however it provides you with a feeling.

Simply put, create all the mass or matter you want. By using your focus have fun joining bits of nothing together that will give you a great feeling! And enjoy the use of absolute unlimited energy needed to bring anything into existence.

Albert Einstein

What are You most Grateful for?

As you probably allready know, gratitude is one of the most important thing if you are practising LOA in your life. Ever since I started aplying the LOA, a few years ago and was very satisfied with the results it gave me & my family. Since that time, I try every day, to think of something of which I am gratefull for......today this is our wonderfull new cat, Sonic (my son named him lol) Our beautifull home, which is getting more prettier every month lately & the great vacation we had together.

What are you most gratefull for?

Developing Positive Attitude in Kids

In my opinion, the most best tool for developing positive attitude in kids, in fact when thinking about Law of Attraction for kids at all, The MOST IMPORTANT thing is helping them to identify and focus on what IS GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES!
Each one of us is TRULY a perfect, and precious, and beautiful, and loving, and sweet, and creative, and lovely, and magnificent, and glorious being - now matter how old we are - as eternal beings each one of is absolutely perfect and precious! In addition to being inherently perfect, we each were born with valuable skills, talents, qualities and gifts - ALL unique, ALL valuable!

...And, the more each one of us can identify with those qualities in OURSELVES (the REAL YOU as your Inner Being knows YOU to be) then, you CANNOT attract anyone who will tell you any different. The Law of Attraction expands on and attracts more of the experiences that are in harmony with those thoughts.
Developing a positive Attitude in kids is about encouraging them to focus on what they DO like, especially about themselves! Then they are far more likely to attract positive experiences, and positive interactions!
Another added benefit of a strong ability for kids to focus on what they DO like in any situation (especially about themselves and the other kids around them) is that they are much less likely to attract bullies, fights, frustrations and teasing!

Teaching kids to identify and appreciate what is good about them, and focus on the words of appreciation that remind them of how special they are, is the most important tool in developing a positive attitude in kids...
Help your kids to learn to identify and know who they REALLY ARE – to know that they truly ARE spectacular, gifted, perfect, beautiful, pure, loving, peaceful, glorious, tender, sweet – a miracle of joy and love personified - that is WHO THEY ARE! ...That is who we ALL are!

Furthermore, each of us has special gifts and talents, and helping kids to identify their own skills, to think about their best qualities, and to focus on what IS good about them is the most important life skill I am aware of! It is the definition of self-confidence and high self-esteem!
To develop a positive attitude in kids, take every opportunity to encourage them to make lists of what they DO like and focus on the positive aspects (think of words of appreciation) for the various experiences they have in their lives!

Help kids to think about the positive ways to answer these questions, and focus on how to feel good about what IS good about them:
  1. What do you most like to do?
  2. What are you good at?
  3. Why do you like your friends; in what ways are the same things that are good about them good about you?
  4. What is easy for you at school? Why are you good at that?
  5. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
  6. What do you want to be really good at? Why would that be fun?
In some cases, you, as the parent will have to answer these questions in your own mind and then "feed" your child the best answers until they get the hang of it, (and old enough), to answer them for themselves habitually.
Developing positive attitudes in kids who are older, by helping them to recognize their own positive aspects, should be more advanced in terms of what kinds of personal qualities they are encouraged to recognize and value, both about themselves AND who they are as people.

Values such as integrity, grace, compassion, creativity, wisdom, intuition... Talents in art, music, language, numbers, memory, building, spatial relations... Knowledge of self, sensitivity, drive, vision, ideas... These gifts, and so many more are the qualities you'll want to encourage your children to remember about themselves
They should also be encouraged to find more numerous positive qualities about themselves - not just in the areas that are already measured by school and society. But also in terms of how many words of appreciation they can find about what makes each unique, and uniquely valuable.

Developing a positive attitude in kids has everything to do with what kinds of positive aspects, about themselves and the people around them, they are encouraged (and assisted in) focusing upon.
Abraham Hicks give numerous law of Attraction quotes that sum it all up; this one is particularly appropriate to this subject at hand:

“Parents often think that they are here to guide the
little ones. When, in reality, the little ones
come forth with clarity to guide you.”

--Excerpted from an Abraham-Hicks "Art of Allowing" workshop
in Orlando, FL on February 15th, 1997

Though this quote is absolutely true, your children have come forth to guide you, our society is not in the habit of teaching us to see the best in ourselves... Therefore, though it will feel like you are the one helping your child to identify, know and focus on his or her best qualities, the practice will REALLY be teaching you both to do it!
Making a habit of focusing on what the child DOES like, what they CAN appreciate, and what they DO enjoy - especially about THEMSELVES - is the fastest way I know to foster a positive attitude in kids! (...and their parents!)

as positively as possible...

Exploring the meaning of Spirituality

One of the great gifts of spiritual knowledge is that it realigns your sense of self to something you may not have even ever imagined was within you. Spirituality says that even if you think you're limited and small, it simply isn't so. You're greater and more powerful than you have ever imagined. A great and divine light exists inside of you. This same light is also in everyone you know and in everyone you will ever know in the future. You may think you're limited to just your physical body and state of affairs — including your gender, race, family, job, and status in life — but spirituality comes in and says "there is more than this."
Notice that spirit sounds similar to words like inspire and expire. This is especially appropriate because when you're filled with spiritual energy, you feel great inspiration, and when the spiritual life force leaves your body, your time on this earth expires. These are two of the main themes of the spiritual journey:
  • Allowing yourself to be filled with inspiration, which also translates into love, joy, wisdom, peacefulness, and service.
  • Remembering that an inevitable expiration awaits to take you away from the very circumstances you may think are so very important right now.
The study of spirituality goes deeply into the heart of every matter and extends far beyond the physical world of matter. Spirituality connects you with the profoundly powerful and divine force that's present in this universe. Whether you're looking for worldly success, inner peace, or supreme enlightenment, no knowledge can propel you to achieve your goals and provide as effective a plan for living as does spiritual knowledge.

Going beyond the physical world

Perhaps the best way to think about a spiritual approach to the world is to contrast it with a more common materialistic approach.
  • The materialistic approach: The materialistic approach relies primarily on empirical evidence provided by the five senses — what can literally be seen, heard, tasted, touched, or smelled. This approach depends on the outer appearances of things to decide how and what to think and feel about them. A materialistic person fixes whatever may be wrong or out of place in his or her world by moving things around and effecting outer changes.
  • The spiritual approach: In contrast, the spiritual way is to see beyond mere outer appearances and the five senses to an intuitive perception of the causes behind outer conditions. Someone with a spiritual approach may change and uplift their world by first transforming and improving his or her own vision.
One of the main teachings of spirituality is to look within and find what you seek within yourself. The external world is ephemeral, temporary, and ever changing; in fact, your body will die one day, sweeping all those worldly accoutrements away like a mere pile of dust. Your inner realm, on the other hand, is timeless, eternal, and deeply profound.

Knowing how spirituality differs from religion

Although religion and spirituality are sometimes used interchangeably, they really indicate two different aspects of the human experience. You might say that spirituality is the mystical face of religion.
  • Spirituality is the wellspring of divinity that pulsates, dances, and flows as the source and essence of every soul. Spirituality relates more to your personal search, to finding greater meaning and purpose in your existence. Some elements of spirituality include the following:
• Looking beyond outer appearances to the deeper significance and soul of everything
• Love and respect for God
• Love and respect for yourself
• Love and respect for everybody

Religion is most often used to describe an organized group or culture that has generally been sparked by the fire of a spiritual or divine soul. Religions usually act with a mission and intention of presenting specific teachings and doctrines while nurturing and propagating a particular way of life.

Religion and spirituality can blend beautifully

Different religions can look quite unlike one another. Some participants bow to colorful statues of deities, others listen to inspired sermons while dressed in their Sunday finery, and yet others set out their prayer rugs five times a day to bow their heads to the ground. Regardless of these different outer manifestations of worship, the kernel of religion is spirituality, and the essence of spirituality is God or the Supreme Being.

Spirituality is:
  • Beyond all religions yet containing all religions
  • Beyond all science yet containing all science
  • Beyond all philosophy yet containing all philosophy
As one becomes more spiritual, animalistic aggressions of fighting and trying to control the beliefs of other people can be cast off like an old set of clothes that no longer fits. In fact, many seekers begin to feel that every image of divinity is just one more face of their own, eternally ever-present God.

Loving and respecting all religions and images of God doesn't mean that you have to agree with all their doctrines. In fact, you don't even have to believe and agree with every element and doctrine of your own religion! This goes for any teachings you may encounter along your path. Everybody thinks that what they are doing is right. That's what's so fun about the world. Everybody is doing something different, and each one believes deep in his soul that what he believes is right — some with more contemplation and conviction than others.

You can Be whatever You want to Be!

There is inside you
All of the potential
To be whatever you want to be;
All of the energy
To do whatever you want to do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
Doing what you want to do,
And each day, take one step
Towards your dream.
And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
Hold on to your dream.
One morning you will awake to find
That you are the person you dreamed of,
Doing what you wanted to do,
Simply because you had the courage
To believe in your potential
And to hold on to your dream.

Let Go Poem

Please share/tag this page with everyone you love!

To let go does not mean to stop caring,
It means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off,
It's the realization I can't control another.

To let go is not to enable,
But to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
The outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
It's to make the most of myself.

To let go is not to care for,
But to care about.

To let go is not to fix,
But to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge,
But to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
But to allow others to affect their destinies.

To let go is not to be protective,
It's to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny,
But to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
But instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
But to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.

To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
But to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past,
But to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more...
Remember: The time to love is short.
